  • The only thing harder than being resilient is explaining why you aren’t.

One of the highlights of my morning happened at our local Recreation Center.

Someone I see there regularly walked over carrying a copy of my book and asked if I would autograph it for him. It was an unexpected surprise and truly made my day.

As a lifelong athlete himself, he shared that the book really resonated with him. While it’s centered on operational resilience, many of the lessons apply just as much to personal resilience. The discipline, consistency, and mindset needed to overcome challenges both professionally and personally.

My book has been out for a couple of years now, so moments like this don’t happen as often as they once did. That made this interaction even more meaningful and a wonderful reminder that the ideas continue to connect with people.

One of my favorite messages from the book remains just as true today:

🏆 “The only thing harder than being resilient is explaining why you aren’t.”

🙏 Thank you for making my morning and for reminding me why I wrote the book in the first place.

💪 Keep learning. Keep improving. Keep building your own resilience.
