🎯Every year I set a goal of completing a significant challenge. Something that takes quite a bit of planning and executing. I’ve been doing this since joining The Mayfield Academy of Jiu Jitsu & Karate in my teens where I’m still an active member.

🏆The sit up record in 2016 was significant and included the following 👇“TEAM JANKO” participants:
2️⃣ Timekeepers
2️⃣ Videographers
2️⃣ Photographers
2️⃣ Leaders of The Community
📑 Affidavits by All Confirming Witnessing of The Record

🗝I made a flippant comment to our Dojo’s owner / Soke stating anyone can set a world record if they try hard enough. He challenged me to put my money where my mouth was. I have been doing 300-400 sit ups daily for decades. I found there were sit up world records for long periods of time, nothing for a short duration so I made that my goal. I ramped up my training for about 4 months and set the record of 47 sit ups in 30 seconds and 87 sit ups in 60 seconds on Friday, October 21, 2016. Every year I reflect on it and use it for motivation to continue challenging myself, to stay focused and resilient.

🥋Most of my significant challenges are physical and fitness related.

📚My significant challenges for 2023 and 2024 involved writing and publishing my book: https://lnkd.in/gEcWsFw3

👏👏👏Thanks to Meredith Norwich and Routledge Taylor & Francis Group for the fantastic support this past year!

😎I’ll continue challenging myself every year and perhaps my significant challenge of 2025 will include friends like you. Stay tuned!
